What Happens during a lip procedure?

Once your medical doctor has given us the green light to go ahead, your nurse injector will apply topical anaesthetic to your lips. This will numb your lips so you won’t feel any pain and the process can be carried out comfortably. A thin needle will then be used to inject the filler no deeper then approximately 2.5mm into your skin.

What happens after the lip filler procedure?

After the procedure, your nurse injector may gently massage the areaso the filler absorption is symmetric and uniform. We will also monitor you for approximately 15 minutes to ensure you don’t experience any side effects, including dizziness, nausea or bleeding. You lips may be swollen and appear bruised and may take upto 48 hours to subside. In some cases, this may take up to a week.

Are there any pre and post care instructions I need to follow?

Pre-Treatment: Avoid any chemical peels, microdermabrasion or skin treatments a week prior to your appointment. Avoid excessive alcohol, sun exposure or any blood thinning medication at least 24 hours prior to your treatment.

Post Treatment: It is recommended that you do not exercise or consume alcohol at least 24 hours post your treatment. Avoid massaging the area, saunas or swimming for this period. Make a follow up appointment 2 weeks post treatment for in clinic review.
